Shakes on the Rocks gives a new twist to the “Shakespeare in a bar” format by messing with the concepts of typecasting and having the players dive in headfirst without any prep. After we spin the wheel to see what show we’re doing that night, the actors select their roles at random, have 10 minutes to go over it, and then we’re off. Gender switches, atypical casting, and no idea what the house or actors might be like on any given night means you’ll want to come back and see how different the next show will be!
